ScoreStudio — Support
Sheet music for iPhone and iPad: read it, hear it, practise it. Completely offline.
No account · No network access · No permissions requested · No data collected
Features
- Open scores: all three MusicXML formats (
.xml,.musicxml, compressed.mxl), plus vector PDFs exported by notation software (experimental) - Real engraving: the Bravura music font draws noteheads, stems, beams, slurs, ornaments, chord symbols, repeats and multi-voice rests to engraving conventions
- Sound out of the box: a bundled GM sound bank performs dynamics, pedals, staccato, fermatas, trills / turns / mordents and grace notes — no download needed
- Transport: return to start, play / pause / resume (resume picks up exactly where it stopped); select a note first and playback begins at that measure
- Note details: tap any note to see pitch, duration, voice and staff, position, articulations, dynamics, lyrics and chord symbols. The score is read-only — nothing is changed by accident
- Repeats done properly: repeat barlines, voltas, D.C. / D.S. al Fine and To Coda are followed; the play cursor tracks the printed page, rests and tied notes included
- Practice: scales, arpeggios and chord exercises in C, F and G major and their relative minors (up / down, 1–3 octaves, optional cadence written the way graded tutors do it), plus metronome, tempo, loop, swing and a piano roll
- Built-in examples: the demo score “Demo March”, plus two practice scores — G major (3 octaves) and A harmonic minor (2 octaves) with cadences — shipped as the original MusicXML files
- Export: PDF / PNG / MIDI / WAV / MusicXML through the system share sheet
- Chinese and English interface, completely offline

Questions, bug reports or feature requests: caiyc_xd@126.com
Frequently asked:
- Durations look wrong after importing a PDF? Vector-PDF import is experimental: staves, pitches and measures are recovered accurately, durations are approximate — please check after import.
- Can I edit the score? No — the notation is read-only by design (reading, listening and practising). What the Details panel can change are playback settings only (instrument, volume / reverb / pan, mute, transpose, brace and staff type).
- Why do chord symbols make a sound? A score that carries chord symbols plays them underneath so you can practise against the harmony. You can switch “Sound chord symbols” off, or give them their own volume with the slider.
- No sound? Playback uses the GM sound bank bundled with the app (no download needed). If it is still silent, check the device volume and the ring / silent switch.
- Which formats are supported? MusicXML (
.xml,.musicxml), compressed MusicXML (.mxl) and vector PDF. This version has no image-based OMR and does not import MIDI.
