ScoreStudio Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 25, 2026 Applies to: ScoreStudio for iOS / iPadOS, bundle ID com.triplint.scorestudio Contact: caiyc_xd@126.com
1. In one sentence
ScoreStudio does not collect, store or transmit any of your personal data or usage data — everything stays on your device. The app is a fully offline sheet-music reader, player and practice tool.
2. What we collect
Nothing. Specifically:
- No account data — there is no sign-up or sign-in, and we never ask for an email address or phone number.
- No device identifiers — the app does not read the advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not fingerprint devices.
- No location data.
- No usage analytics — no event tracking, no analytics, no crash reporting.
- No access to the scores you open — we never see them.
3. Permissions the app requests
None. The app does not use the camera, photo library, microphone, location, contacts, calendars, reminders, Bluetooth or notifications, and it does not request App Tracking Transparency permission. Info.plist contains no usage-description keys, so no permission prompt ever appears.
4. Network access
The app has no networking capability: there is no networking code, no system network framework is linked, and no App Transport Security exceptions are declared. Your data therefore cannot be uploaded anywhere — including to us: we operate no server that collects user data.
5. Your scores and files
- Scores you open or import through the system document picker are read and processed only inside the app's sandbox on your device.
- The app is a read-only tool: it never modifies your original files. Settings you change inside the app (instrument, mute, mixer, transpose, playback start measure, part playback) affect playback and display only.
- Files you export (PDF / PNG / MIDI / WAV / MusicXML) go wherever you choose in the system share sheet (Files, AirDrop, another app). We do not receive them, keep copies, or have any way to access them.
- Deleting the app deletes all of its local data.
6. Preferences stored on your device
To remember how you like to use the app, ScoreStudio stores a few settings locally using the system UserDefaults: interface language, zoom level, the paths of recently opened scores, and playback switches (metronome, loop, count-in, swing, sounding chord symbols, keeping the screen awake during playback).
This information contains no personally identifying data, stays on your device, is readable only by the app, and is never uploaded. Deleting the app removes it.
7. Third-party content bundled with the app
The app ships the following resources; none of them involve network requests or data collection:
- FluidR3Mono GM sound bank (compressed
.sf3, 13.9 MB) — MIT licence (licence text ships with the app); it is decoded on your device on first launch by the bundled stb_vorbis (public domain / MIT, licence text ships with the app). Nothing is downloaded; - Bravura music font — SIL Open Font License 1.1 (licence text ships with the app);
- Two built-in practice examples (G major scale and cadence; A harmonic minor scale and cadence) — generic scale and cadence figures, shipped as the original MusicXML files with no third-party copyright notice inside them.
8. Third-party SDKs, advertising and purchases
The app contains no third-party SDKs: no advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting, no social login, and no in-app purchases or subscriptions. It runs entirely on system frameworks and bundled resources.
9. Children's privacy
Because the app collects no data at all, it does not collect personal information from children (including children under 13), and no parental-consent flow is required. Parents can let their children use it freely.
10. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA and similar)
Since we never receive and never hold any of your personal data, there is no data to access, correct, delete, restrict or export — and we do not sell or share personal data. If you have any question about this policy or about how the app handles data, please email us.
11. Data retention and international transfers
Not applicable: the app sends no data to any server and we store no data, so there is no retention period and no cross-border transfer to consider.
12. Changes to this policy
If a future version introduces features that need network access or data collection, we will update this policy (with a new effective date shown on this page) before that version ships, and will make the change prominent inside the app. The version on this page is always the current one.
