Version history
1.1 (first update · build 1)
- Playback: fixed "pressing Resume after Pause started from the beginning again"; resuming after switching scores no longer plays the previous score; the play cursor now runs on a single timeline and follows the notated position through rests and ties; tempo marks play and display in the score's own units
- Playback follow: on iPhone the score and cursor no longer jump up and down on the last line of a non-final page
- Beams: beams no longer overlap noteheads, and a second beam no longer stops short of the stem; beam groups split at a 2-octave pitch span, so stems no longer cross
- Line breaking and spacing: a measure that cannot fit on one system now breaks inside the measure and continues on the next line (dense measures are no longer squeezed together); horizontal positions follow a minimum-ink-clearance model, so noteheads no longer overlap; a measure that is only slightly over-wide is still compressed rather than given a line of its own
- Clef and time-signature space: a mid-measure clef change or time signature now reserves space by its measured glyph width and no longer sits on the notes; the "scrambled clefs" regression on real scores is fixed
- Mark placement: dynamics and crescendo/diminuendo wedges moved below the staff with full spans; octave marks sit outside the staff with their endpoints aligned; tempo glyphs and text share a baseline; Segno / Coda sit at the start of a measure and Fine / To Coda / D.C. / D.S. at its end; crescendo/diminuendo directions are no longer reversed; trills, mordents, turns and marcato (^) always sit above the staff
- Wrong glyphs: after a full check against the official SMuFL name list, a batch of mis-drawn marks was fixed (Segno / D.S. / D.C. drew other marks, tempo marks showed the wrong note value, the pedal release mark, swapped staccato / tenuto icons, the arpeggio wiggle, the 15mb / 8va bass clefs, and more)
- Mordents and ornaments: glyphs settled against reference engraving renders (
<mordent> has the vertical stroke, <inverted-mordent> does not) and the details panel's Chinese labels now match the glyph and the explanation; trill / turn / inverted-turn / upper- and lower-mordent terminology unified
- Notation fixes: when a voice in a multi-voice measure is shorter than the time signature, the added rests no longer lose their dots; imported MusicXML without note-value tags infers the value from the actual duration (more accurate playback); every voice now fills its measure (no more "total duration does not match the time signature"); the long black line at the end of a score turned out to be a malformed multi-measure rest and is now drawn properly
- MusicXML: exported files no longer violate the schema (86 issues cleared and verified against the official XSD); Roman-numeral chords and inversions (
<function>, with super/subscript figures) are parsed, displayed and exported; hidden notes (print-object="no"), <other-dynamics>, tuplet <normal-type> and open-string notation are handled; a crescendo that spans measures no longer loses its endpoint; a score exported by notation software 4.x is now part of the test corpus for modern syntax
- Practice: four new exercise types — intervals, rhythm patterns, chord progressions and sight-singing; short arpeggios now respect octave and direction and use the inverted-position window pattern that graded syllabuses use (root position → first inversion → second inversion …), distinct from long arpeggios
- Repeats practice score: redesigned into four single-theme scores (repeats & endings / measure & beat repeats / D.S. & Coda / D.C. & Fine), and a first-pass false jump at To Coda is fixed
- Demo score: the bundled "Demo March" now carries staccato, accents, tenuto, slurs, ties, a mordent, a triplet, a crescendo and a fermata, so "Note details → Music classroom" has something to explain
- Jianpu: a new numbered-notation view (experimental)
- Score library: scores you have opened are collected automatically, with favourites, rename and delete; a new difficulty rating (computed fully on device)
- Settings: page-turn options (swipe / Bluetooth pedal or keyboard / half page), a Pencil annotation layer, Bluetooth MIDI output, links and acknowledgements; the About row now shows the version and build number
- Shortcuts: open your most recent score with Shortcuts or Siri (no longer Chinese-only on English devices)
- Safer edits: transposing and brace changes now ask for confirmation
- Size and performance: the sound bank is now a compressed
.sf3 (about 13.9 MB, decoded on device on first launch) and the download is much smaller; changing playback settings no longer re-lays out the whole score, and concert pitch and the piano roll are cached so following the cursor costs less battery
- Terminology: aligned with standard notation wording ("chord symbol" and friends); "coverage score" replaces the old name; missing English copy added
- Jianpu and the coverage score are labelled experimental
